Rafael Nadal the world number eight has been knocked out of the US Open in the third round by Fabio Fognini from Italy. Nadal lost in five sets after being two sets up 3-6 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4. This is the first time Nadal has been two sets up in a Grand Slam and lost. Fognini will now face fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez in the forth round.
Hot favourite world number one Novak Djokovic still not to drop a set progressed to the forth round defeating Andreas Seppi 6-3 7-5 7-5. Next up for Novak is David Goffin.
Andy Murray is playing Thomas Bellucci and Roger Federer is up against Philipp Kohlschreiber today in their third round clashes.
