Andy Murray was the highest ranked player left in the draw until he was beaten in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open last night by Tomas Berdych 7-6 6-4. The Czech player will now face in form Stanislas Wawrinka in the semi-final. The other semi-final is between world number 5 Rafael Nadal and unseeded Spaniard Pablo Andujar.
